The Velcro Companies, the industry leader in hook and loop fasteners, is also an industry leader in community involvement. The Company and its employees take an active, hands on role, in community involvement through volunteered time as well as donations and contributions. The Velcro Companies support and encourage such involvement from our employees and to strengthen the community tie, the Company offers matching contributions when employees make donations for charitable causes.
The Company also plays a direct role through sponsorship of specific non-profit organizations and events with a goal of improving the community in which we live and work.
Involvement in the Heritage United Way
The Velcro Companies and its employees are one of the largest contributors in the Greater Manchester, NH Area to the Heritage United Way and are also participants in the United Way of the Greater Seacoast.
The Velcro Companies participate yearly in the Heritage United Way's Day of Caring. The Day of caring is a community wide event that matches teams of volunteers from the Velcro Companies with local United Way Projects. The Day of Caring is a day when we at the Velcro Companies put aside our personal needs and the needs of our company to give back to the community.
Examples of Day of Caring projects, that have been done in the past by our employees are general repairs and repainting of a mental heath facility, working with children at a day care center, pre-event preparation for non-profit events such as fundraisers and walks, and time spent at the American Lung Association.
