It may not be baseball season just yet, but that doesn’t mean we’re not in the baseball state of mind. To be more specific, we’re in the baseball and reading state of mind. We’ve teamed up with The New Hampshire Fisher Cats again, to sponsor the “Fisher Cats Reading Challenge”, an exciting initiative challenging students in the New England area to read five books outside of their normal school reading requirements.
For the students who participate and succeed in reading five or more books, it enables them to win two free tickets to a Fisher Cats game at the Northeast Delta Dental Stadium and VELCRO® bookmarks. While at the game, the students are able to go on the field during the National Anthem, and last, but certainly not least- the school with the highest number of participants will earn a chance to win cash donations for their school.
A program free of charge to students all over the Northern Massachusetts and New Hampshire areas, the Fisher Cats Reading Challenge (with the help of their good ol’ mascot, Fungo) additionally puts on over 40 assemblies in various elementary schools, highlighting smart goal-setting, the importance of reading skills and ways to stay healthy and make good decisions.
The Fisher Cats start their season back up again on April 9th against the New Britain Rock Cats…in the meantime, we’ll be catching up on our reading list!
