FOUR BACK TO SCHOOL HACKS EVERY PARENT NEEDS

Summer has come and gone and it is once again the start of a new school year. If you’re a parent, getting back into the school routine can be quite daunting and stressful. From figuring out everyone’s daily schedules, to making sure everyone has what they need for their classes, kids aren’t the only ones dreading this time of year.

We get it. We know how busy the first few weeks of school can be before everything becomes second nature again. While we don’t have a magical easy button for you, these four back to school hacks will “magically” transform your life and help you get more organized.

Read on and give our back to school tips a try. They won’t bring summer back but they will make your life a little bit easier!

1) Create a “Scheduling Center”

When the new school year begins, so do after-school activities. From extracurricular activities like swimming and dance lessons, to homework and projects, to weekend outings like birthday parties and soccer games, chances are your kids will have many places to be and lots of things to do. Keeping track of everyone’s schedules can get tricky and become easy to forget who needs to be where and when.

Instead of becoming a human planner for everyone, create a “Scheduling Center.” Dedicate a small place in your home to hang bulletin boards and calendars for the whole family. It will help you keep track of the family’s activities in one centralized location. Installation is a breeze with VELCRO® Brand Heavy Duty Tape– simply adhere the tape to the wall and the object, and voila! everything stays in place and you didn’t even need to use nails!

2) Don’t be that parent that’s always running late. Keep track of time by strategically placing clocks in key areas around your house.

Our next back to school hack for parents will help you get the whole family out the door on time in the morning and prevent you from being late for important appointments. Place clocks in key areas of the house (bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, or near the front door), so you’re always aware of the time and how long you have left to get ready. Use VELCRO® Brand Heavy Duty Tape or VELCRO® Brand HANGables® Wall Fasteners to easily secure the clocks to your walls; no need for nails equals no damage to your walls.

3) Create a homework station for kids to use to get their schoolwork done

Homework is never fun; but if your kids have a special space that has everything they might need to get their work done, it just might be a little bit more enjoyable. Create a homework station equipped with everything your child might need to help get their work done quickly and efficiently. To keep everything tidy and organized, use the VELCRO® Brand ONE-WRAP ties and the VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back tape. Instead of spending half an hour searching for the scissors or a blue marker that works, your kiddo can get everything done faster. Less time worrying about getting homework done equals more time to play!

4) Showcase your kids’ artwork and good grades on a fun wall display

Last but not least, encourage your kids to work hard and get good grades by devoting an area of your house, where you can display all of their wonderful work!

Hang up a corkboard. Don’t want to use nails? Use VELCRO® Brand Heavy Duty Tape or use VELCRO® Brand HANGables® Removable Wall Fasteners. Display your kids’ accomplishments with pride and easily add or swap out what you want to display throughout the year.
