How to Make a DIY Christmas Tree for Your Wall Using String Lights
Time needed: 30 minutes
This is one of the easiest Christmas crafts going, and one of the most impressive!
Materials: Christmas lights, wooden pegs and Christmas cards (optional), star decoration
- Start with the Hooks
Start with your VELCRO® Brand HANGables® Removable Wall Hooks. For a decent-sized tree, you’ll need at least 18 hooks, but you can make your DIY Christmas tree bigger or smaller depending on the amount of space available.
Starting at the top, stick the hooks on the wall in a Christmas tree formation, making the tree wider as you move downwards. The beauty of using these removable hooks is that they’ll peel cleanly off the wall after Christmas, leaving no marks! - Add the Lights
Next, drape a long string of Christmas lights from hook to hook. Start at the top so that the end of the lights that will lead to the plug ends up at the bottom of the tree.
- Decorate Your Tree
If you’re feeling extra festive, why not hang a star decoration at the top of the tree? You could even turn your DIY Christmas tree into a fabulously festive Christmas card display by using mini wooden pegs to hang cards off the wire.
