Instructions

Apply to a clean, dry surface free of dust, debris or oils.
Remove the protective liner to expose the adhesive.
Press firmly along the whole length to ensure a firm adhesive bond to the surface (touching the adhesive will weaken performance).
Allow to set for 60 minutes before mounting.
Reaches maximum strength after 24 hours.
Use at least one square inch of fastener for every 2.5 lbs.
Total weight should not exceed 15 lbs. Minor hook shredding is normal upon repeated opening and closing and does not materially affect closure performance.

I received only one side of the fastener—is there a soft side?

Extreme Lock fasteners consist of mushroom-shaped hooks that snap together. Unlike traditional hook-and-loop designs, this type engages to itself, eliminating the need for two different sides. Please note that they are not recommended for use with conventional hook-and-loop fasteners.

How can I use these extra-strong VELCRO® Brand Squares?

These semi-permanent mounting fasteners have a wide range of uses:

– Mount outside décor: Display cameras, lights, sensors and solar-powered accessories indoors or out.
– For musicians: Mount guitar effects pedals to a baseboard.
– Mount signs: Hang semi-rigid or rigid signs in gymnasiums and beyond.

They are not recommended for securing sofa cushions, as many cushions are made from fabric treated with coatings that resist adhesive bonding.

How do I disengage Extreme Lock fasteners?

To separate the fasteners, begin at one edge and gradually lift towards the opposite edge.

How do you remove the adhesive from VELCRO® Brand Extreme Lock fasteners?

Note: Removing these fasteners may damage the surface due to their high adhesive strength.

1. If removal is necessary, soak the adhesive strips in acetone, mineral spirits or a citrus-based cleaner for five minutes.
2. Caution: Some chemicals that remove Extreme Lock fasteners may damage the substrate.
3. Start at one end of the strip and peel it away at a 90-degree angle until the entire strip is removed.
4. If any adhesive residue remains, use a commercial cleaner again.

What surfaces can bond to Extreme Lock fasteners?

Extreme Lock fasteners can bond to a wide range of smooth or textured surfaces, including metal, wood, glass, vinyl and concrete. However, they are not recommended for drywall.

Can Extreme Lock fasteners be applied in cold temperatures?

No, a minimum temperature of 50 °F is required when applying the adhesive. Once bonded, the fasteners operate effectively within the range of -40 °F to 194 °F (-40 °C to 90 °C).
