Race To The Moon Timeline – Classroom Activity Idea

This year man celebrated the 50th anniversary of the moon landing – one of the most important moments in space exploration,  and no doubt it’ll be on your science syllabus this year!

So if you’re looking for a fun lesson idea to teach kids about the moon landing, here’s an interactive classroom activity idea that will help you teach children about the fascinating race to the moon that took place throughout the 1950s and 60s.

WHAT YOU NEED

WHAT TO DO

Start by downloading and printing our free ‘Race to the Moon’ printables and mount them onto thin card to make them more sturdy.

Stick your background on the wall with VELCRO® Brand HANGables® Picture Hanging Squares (that peel off cleanly without leaving any marks when it’s time to take down the display).

Then stick the soft side of a VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back Coins (the loop side) to the back of each date and event.

And stick the corresponding scratchy side of the VELCRO® Brand Sticky Back Coins (the hook side) in position on the background.
