Classrooms Across New England Gear Up for Third Boston Bruins “Battle of the Books” Competition

Velcro Companies and the Boston Bruins are teaming up once again to generate enthusiasm for reading and literacy amongst students of all ages and foster some friendly competition across schools in New England, with the return of the third annual “Battle of the Books” contest. This March, classrooms in schools across the region are invited to enter their favorite book into a bracket-style competition in which students and educators vote to select the ultimate winner.

As with previous years, each classroom will select 16 books, reading through two at a time and voting on that winner. Each winning book will advance to the next round, culminating in a “Battle of the Books” winner.

Together, Velcro Companies and the Boston Bruins will provide weekly prizes for select classrooms based on photo submissions, which include $500 Amazon gift cards and a supply of VELCRO® Brand products for classroom organization and décor. Similar to last year – which saw Henderson Inclusion Elementary School win a Boston Bruins BFit School Assembly Program that featured high-energy, festive activities with the Bruins’ mascot – this year’s winning classroom will also get the opportunity to take part in this engaging program focused on promoting a happy, healthy lifestyle.

As a company founded on curiosity and innovation, Velcro Companies teams up with global and regional partners to support educational and literacy programs for children and foster lasting, sustainable change in their communities.

All school classrooms are eligible to participate. Please visit BostonBruins.com/Battleofthebooks for more information.
